Invest in the heart of Europe

AUTOMOTIVE

The Limburg economic tissue is marked by a strong automotive tradition, as evidenced by the presence of multinationals like the Ford Motor Company from the US, Nitto Denko from Japan (European headquarters) and Tenneco from the US.

Since 2008, Flanders’ DRIVE has developed from a knowledge network and test platform into a fully fledged and internationally recognised pool of competence. The constant link between research and development and assembly activities is an important aspect in this respect.

The Lommel Proving Ground, featuring 80 km of varying road surfaces, has been one of the top European test tracks for many years now. Limburg’s automotive industry also tries to anticipate the future needs of the (auto)mobile world. With the construction of a hybrid drive, Punch Powertrain in Sint-Truiden has made the first step in the right direction.
